We'll make a stab at this...Sod bustin for a garden

Got a bright idea... we'll plant a garden this year!
with all the talk about health, this'll make'm cheer

We wouldn't do such a big one, so we don't need a plow,
we'll just shovel the sod; well, doesn't sound so good now

The thing kept getting bigger; had to move the woodpile and wagon
got some pretty big blisters, and a large part of me was drag'n!

The boss gave me some strawberry sets, just a small bucket you know
found out we had enough for Harris's and us and a few others to grow

Had to take sod clods out of the dirt, to till
then had to put clods in the garbage to send to the landfill

Garbage can got real heavy; Mom couldn't move it a bit
garbage man raised two wheels off and nearly lost his grip on it

Now we have to put some ties around the perimeter I guess
the ones that Johnny wanted, you know, from the estate, I confess

Well, guess this will have to do for now, tonight
when mom reads this I'm sure she'll turn a few shades of white!
